a night at the bridge .

last night, tanti, alicia and i decided to the movies for the simple fact that we all wanted to get out of the house . so we hit up the bridge . we were going to catch a 7:00 flick , or atleast somewhere around that time, but alicia was on CPT ( if you dnt know ; you better ask somebody ) and we didn't get to the howard hughes center until after seven . with all the movies we were interested in seeing already started , we all decided to see twilight at 9:30 . with a good two hours to kill , we went to putting edge ; the glow in the dark miniature golf to escape the freezing cold . it was VERY cold yesterday , windy and all . played a couple of rounds of air hockey , and sung keyshia cole while we tried to figure out what the hell kind of music they were playing . wasted a good hour in there . after we leave the mini golf place , we go in the movie theater and head downstairs to buy junk food . spent at least half an hour waiting on the man in front of us who i guess wanted to buy the whole concession stand . well thts how it seemed . after i paid for my sour patch kids , we head to theater 7 which was pretty empty lol . well when most of the credits were over , there was more ppl . okay , so the movie was good . i laughed a lot , thanks to alicia . jumped a few times , but not as much as alicia . ( lmao ) . it was over wayy after 11 . && boy ; the bridge is dull at this time . everything is closed except CPC [ california pizza kitchen ] and ben & jerry's . oh and nordstrom's rack , wetzels pretzels , and the movie theatre of course . thanks to twilight , i stayed up until 4 this morning .

So I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas holiday . I know I did . I wasn't really in the holiday moods, however for the entire week , especially Christmas Eve . I don't know , it was something about the cold and rainy weather.. I just wasn't feeling it. But being with my mom, siblings, grandparents, and other family made me happy. So yesterday, we broke our usual Christmas tradition and had Christmas dinner at my house , after we opened presents .

"Santa" brought me everything I wanted . I got my iPod nano chromatic ; color not of my choice but I can't complain . I got my video camera , small && portable . And together, with my three siblings we got a Wii . All we need to complete that is two more controls . Until then we'll just keep alternating between each other .

A few other things I got that I enjoyed was my Mickey Mouse products that my mama got me . A new travel bag , pajama bottoms [ tops were sold out ] and house shoes that look like boots ( wouldn't want to wear them outside though ) . I also got brand new iPod speakers and clothes from my grandma , of course . I added my 15th Elmo to my collection with the newest Elmo : ELMO LIVE. He tells jokes , stories , sings and dances .

Another one of my favorite gifts though , is the book I received from my brother's dad called The Self Publishing Manual. I already started reading it and I'm well on my way to learning a new and useful career of self-publication .

So, I seem to be slipping back to my old ways seeing how I haven't blogged in five days . I am officially on winter break ( well i have been for the past 3 days ) , and I'm excited as hell . I have more time to sleep in and do whatever the hell I want without having to be worried with the demands of school .

Today was a CHILL day . I woke up at 8:30 to get dressed and leave for my mom's job at 10:00 . Mama Nita ( my grandma ) , was in the kitchen cooking spaghetti and green beans for the occasion being held my my mom . Once my mom's friend Bernard got here , we loaded all the food in the truck and made 3 stops before we got to the jail on 77th && Broadway which is where my mommy works .

what a hectic weekend .

Okay , so first things first . As of December 4th, 2008, I have officially been accepted into CSUDH ; Cal State Uninversity at Dominguez Hills . I got the letter yesterday in the mail while I was away , and my mother opened it . When I got home , she told me that I was accepted . At first I didn't believe her , so I ran downstairs to go check for proof . And lo and behold , the opened letter with the CSUDH letterhead was sitting on the kitchen counter . All I read was the first line and ran to find my cell phone to spread the word . The first person I called and told was Tanti . ( deja vu much ? ) LMAO . I have more weekend activities to catch you all up on , well those of you who are reading this blog . But I have to get back to Cain's project . Until then , ttfn .

Soo today , I did one of my favorite things - get my hair done . I swear, every time I get my hair done , I feel so relaxed and at ease . And like a few times before , I almost fell asleep in the salon chair , this time under the dryer . Sad, huh ? Anywho , hairapy ( hair therapy as defined by Shae ) is one of the things I look forward to every two weeks , especially when I can feel my hair start to look bad . [ though ppl still think it looks good . i guess they dont see wht i see ] . Whenever it gets to the point where I need to get my hair done again, it always gets stiff . But now my hair is moveable and has a flow to it .

dirty laundy @ this christmas .

Last night when we got home from El Torito - one of my favorite Mexican restaurants , me && the fam + Bernard went upstairs to watch a couple of flickers . And oddly enough they both starred ( or featured ) Loretta Devine .

First we watched This Christmas . I`m sure you all know that movie . Chris Brown . Lauren London . Regina King . Columbus Short . Yeahh , that movie . I didn`t realize how much I loved it until I watched it again last night , especially since I hadn`t seen it like a year ago when it first came out . I still think its sad that it came out LAST Christmas , but is just now on DVD THIS Christmas . Sense a little bit of irony in that ? Yeah , I know . Any who , I also noticed how Chris makes plenty of funny faces when he sings . Idk , that`s just odd to me . Also , I felt sorry for that poor child that played Regina`s daughter . WHY ?! did they neglect her poor head ? I mean seriously , come on now .

The second movie we watched was called Dirty Laundry. Now this movie was interesting . I would advise you all to check that one out . I don`t want to talk too much about it , just in case you do decide to look at it . But it was good . Loretta is one hell of an actress .

i can afford college dot com

so today was the CASH FOR COLLEGE convention/seminar at the LA Convention Center .

timed; 8:30-11:30 . ended at one , but we had to leave early . attended; me , tanti , alicia , auri .

so , today was pretty much a fun day . i got to school , with my heavy ass bag full of shit tht i didnt even need . went to cain`s class after turning in my permission slip for the trip && sat with marquie and carolyn . carolyn already said she wasn`t going on the trip . and marquie wasn`t going to go either , but changed her mind leaving carolyn behind - which made her upset . ( ily twin )

at the convention , i applied to four schools ; two in south carolina [ south carolina state + benedict college ] && two in alabama [ alabama A&M + stillman college ] and qualified for a $17,000 scholarship @ benedict . GO ME !

in the process of talking to college reps. , we lost auri... or should i say auri lost us . we were talking, waiting for her to finish talking to the people from the academy of art and when we looked up she was gone . so we go around the booths , and i spot her walking and looking around for us . so i point her out . tanti is like "shh" and we just follow her walking around looking for us . somewhere along the way alicia dares tanti to go up behind her and snatch her bag that she got from the academy of the art ( which kept falling off her shoulder anyway ) . so she did && auri had the slowest reaction ever . funny shit .

when we get back to school , it was lunch time . && we decide to kick it in cain`s class . first i had to finish the rest of my spanish homework , and once that was done i ate my fruit , cereal && chips , which i all shared with zina . thenn , talked and danced along with tanti , alicia , zina && auri . spanish 5th period was blah . 6th period i was in the mp room for like a minute , then went to cain`s class and danced && sung to isaqq && brandon playing random songs on the keyboards , did the matrix && broke my back for alicia to laugh at me .

oh ! && to top it all off , i got a phone call from the bestie , tanti a couple of hours ago to learn that she won the MLK speech contest against all the other participating schools in the IUSD . congratsss girll !

last night at the 2008 AMA`s , i would have to say that Alicia Keys was my favorite person . i love this woman with a passion , and last night just heightened my love for her . Alicia is indeed a superwoman . everything she does is genius .

Alicia represents a true artist , in my opinion . i`ve always felt that out of the many artists out there , she was one of the true artists . every lyric she sings ( && )every note she plays is pure genius . that may sound a little stanish , but whatever . i really don`t care . she deserves it all . not only is she a great artist , she`s a beautiful person that cares about things that matter today like finding a cure and aiding those with HIV/AIDS .

thursday ; thomas` class - YIPPEE ! umm.. sike . greek , cain still not in attendance - dancing , talking , single ladies . lunch . single ladies , lap dance for alicia ( lucky bastard ) naughty girl . hollywood . single ladies . get me bodied .

friday ; cain shows up to half of a class , surprise . surprise . wasn`t expecting him @ all . didnt do anything in those two hours except talk abt movies . third period - bored myself to death for the second time in a week . lunch - attended the obama dollar dance . 5th period - spanish , replaced alicia and sat with tanti`s group . talked to tanti in one of three of our languages and made domo mad ( lol ) .

after school , the SIDE-WOOD game . rooting for SIDE . cheering for khalid , jaymz , laurence , josh , gabriel , marquie && domo ( drill team ) . saw curtisha who i ain`t seen since the 10th grade . && dami . in the end WOOD won . big whoopdedoo .


weirdest experience of the week : eating cherry cheesecake with a plastic drinking straw , yep tht was an experience .

Today is a very special day - the 42nd birthday of my uncle Clifford. He was born November 12, 1966 && I knew him four fourteen years . In 2005 , he passed away due to walking pneumonia . He will always be in my heart . He's my Uncle Kobe && I'm his chocolate drop .

Once again, it feels mighty damn good to be a senior. Today was somewhat of a wacky, confusing day. Friday afternoon, Mrs. Wilson made an anouncement that Monday ( today ) would be a 2-4-6 schedule. So I brought all my stuff for Thomas. Cain`s not going to be present all week, so there was no need to bring stuff for Greek. Anywho, when I got to school, Mrs. Wilson makes an anoucement: "Due to the fact that there are college classes today, it will be a 1-3-5 day." ( which it originally was supposed to be ) . So i`m mad because i don`t have my stuff for my 1, 3, and 5 class . When we get to our first period, another anoucement . ( 2-4-6 ) MAKE UP YOUR MIND PEOPLE!

So back to Thomas` class I go, reluctantly. Then again, another anouncement: "All seniors who are interested in going on the field trio to Mt. Sierra College, please report to Mr. Balley's office." SAVED BY THE BELL! At first I didn`t want to go, but I didn`t want to be in Pre-Calculus either. I decided to stay , but did i do nothing ? Hell no! About half an hour passes and Tanti comes to my class and tells me that we have to go on the field trip. ( only because Alicia wanted us to go so she wouldnt be alone )

It wasn`t that bad , really besides being isolated from the world by Khalid to and from the college .

windy days in los angeles .

today was a pretty chill day . i woke up at 10 for breakfast . played around with movie maker on my laptop ( aka re-made a trailer that i cant save ) && watched lifetime + animal planet . took a shower && got dressed around one . traded my laptop for the desktop with asia . chatted on AIM , YIM , && bbs . made some graphics in PS . and voila ! here i am with a new blog . lol

i didn`t see CUPCAKE today . that hurt my heart .
she`ll be back though , i know . she is my neighbor afterall =] YEP ! my mama told me she belongs to the lady in the yellow house across the street .

noon day visits .

This isn`t what many people would expect to see when they open their front door , but today somewhere around 12:00 noon , that`s what I saw looking me back in the face . This cute little kitten is not mine , and I do not know where she came from , nor do I know who she belongs to . All I do know is... I WANT HER .

I`m not a big cat fan , but she`s crept her way into my heart since I met her . && I guess she has somewhat of a soft spot for us too . She`s been on my porch all day && i`m sure she`s still out there ; or under my mom`s car . My mom`s friend decided to give her a piece of bread . I guess that`s why she`s still here too..

Speaking of moms , mine doesn`t want to keep her . Not because she`s not an animal lover ... she`s allergic to cats . I feel so bad for her , though . She`s skinny , hungry , && has been sneezing a lot .

When we first saw her , my sister and I thought that she was a he . So my sister took it upon herself to give it a name - William . ( what an ugly name for a cat . ) Then she wanted to call it some outlandish shit like Phillip . No offense to all you Will and Phil`s out there . I just don`t think that is cute for a cat .

I don`t think we`ll be able to keep her , though . I wish it was possible to keep her . In the past five or so hours that she arrived on my porch , I`ve grown somewhat attached to her .
